avoiding writing a massive paper...turn to blogging. it's what i do.

looking forward to april 22nd cause i will never have to write anything for school ever again. Got asked today if I was going to be doing any more "schooling" after this masters....big no. big. BIG. Which is good cause "me and school have issues". hahaha.

thinking about shelling out money every month and joining a gym. i have limited money til i get an actual paying job. i just worry that i'll pay the money and i'll work out...and i won't lose any weight. money well wasted. devils advocate...don't spend the money and don't work out...and for sure don't lose weight. damn.

    im feeling very antsy lately.

I get my braces off march 7th. they are putting a permant retainer on the back of my two front teefers. no more gapping. It'll take a week after that to get my flipper. Gotta wear another one of those til december. bleh. oh well...at least i know when i wont have to wear it anymore. I get my last implant put in june/july time. the first two will be healed by then, but I wont be getting crowns til they are all healed....reason for the previously mentioned december finish date. I REALLY can't wait til i am finished with all this dental work. r.e.a.l.l.y.

march 7th is also the day i drive up to dallas for kristens rehearsal and rehearsal dinner...and wedding the following day. go weddings. fun times and memories to come. still have to figure out what i am getting her...

the dogs are sleeping...they sure are lazy...and cute.

im just coming off of a 50 hour work week. yuck. good for the hour calculations (need 640 field hours to graduate)...bad for the tiredness levels. one more day of glorious weekend...which reminds me to freakin start writing that paper. ugh.

  • Happy S.A.D. day!

so yeah...i just spent like an hour reading blogs on myspace back to aug of 2005. Very interesting to think about different times and esp reading about them as if they were happening. Makes most of it very real again.

Valentines day. Single Awareness Day. Happy S.A.D. day today to all the single folk like myself.

I'm tired. Haven't gotten great sleep lately. At least im sleeping...it could always be worse (was reminded of that tonight as I was reading through blogs).

Went with my parents out to eat tonight for v-day. good italian at a nice little place in round rock. Gino's I think.

Funny card my 'rents gave me for Valentines:

    Front -
    For a Dear Daughter
    Here's a card you're sure to like-
    It doesn't advise, lecture, discuss,
    debate, argue, persuade, disapprove,
    or dispute!

    Inside -
It just sits in your hand and says,
    Happy Valentine's Day!

    good night friends

  • Haven't blogged in a while. There really isn't a whole heck of a lot to say...

I've been working (for no pay) a lot. I really am enjoying my internship, so that's good. Just wish I was getting paid. Money is a big thought on my mind lately. I really just need to not worry about it...but yeah...we'll see how I do with that. (that is the topic of many of my prayers lately...)

I've also been struggling with my devotion to God lately...I don't pray nearly as much as I'd like. Part of the problem is I do not have a big support system regarding my faith here. I still haven't found a church I love here. Not to say I've been "actively" looking, but I guess I just am becoming apathetic again regarding finding a good church. It is just one of those things that will not change unless I motivate myself to change it. bleh. I would love to find a great bible study group...or something. Ive been searching for those 'in depth' conversations with people regarding faith and God. I do love talking to believers about God and really do need to plug in somewhere.

    that's all i got today.

    7 random facts about myself

    I've been tagged.

    Here are the rules:
    1. Link to the person who tagged you.
    2. Leave a comment on their blog so that their readers can visit yours
    3. Post the rules on your blog
    4. Share 7 random and/or weird facts about yourself on your blog
    5. Tag 7 random people at the end of your post
    6. Include links to their blogs
    7. Let each person know they've been tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.

    I was tagged by Kristen

    and now to the randomness...

    1. Most people consider me outgoing, but that is a lie...I am actually quite shy and insecure in large crowds.

    2. I am completely deaf in my leaf ear. Born that way, and it was nerve damage so hearing aids don't aid.

    3. I like to name my computers. My old laptop was named Abby, and my current laptop is named Michael (the macbook).

    4. I love shoes...love them, and buy lots. But consistently only wear about 3 different pairs that I own.

    5. I have two dogs (boston terriers), jack and jill, whom I pretty much consider my kids. And treat them accordingly.

    6. I have 3 missing teeth, and two implants (getting a third later) which are currently healing before we can put the crowns in. I secretly am very critical of mine AND others teeth.

    7. I love travel (but haven't been able to do very much) and I want to live in other areas of the world. I doubt this will actually happen due to money...but it is still a dream of mine. If I didn't have two dogs right now, I would seriously consider the Peace Corps.

    I am tagging:

Danielle, Robin, Emily, Nathan, Darla, Amanda, and Kevin

  • 100 book challenge

So I found out about the 100 book challege b/c Darla attempted it last year. She got about 30 books read while having a pretty darn busy year. I have decided to join her on this challenge. Technically we started December 17th or so...can't remember the exact day. But...I'll go to about then in 2008. I'll be numbering the books I've read and give a SHORT review. We'll see if I can do this. I am already behind darla...

    1. Possession: A Romance by A.S. Byatt. This is a romance in the non modern way of saying a 'romance' novel. It is the story of two scholars who hunt down missing letters from two poets who corrensponded. Subsequently we find that the two poets had an affair. This literary 'mystery' is great once you get past the first 80 pgs or so. Lots of poetry and letters besides the basic plot. If you are looking for a good read and don't mind getting through a slow beginning, you should give it a try.

    2. Some Enchanted Evening by Christina Dodd. This on the other hand is your typical romance. It is actually the first in a trilogy which each book goes through the story of 3 sisters who are exiled pricessess. It is set in the early 1800's. This first novel is the story of Clarice the middle sister.

    3. The Barefoot Pricess by Christina Dodd. Second in the trilogy, this is the story of the youngest exiled princess named Amy.

    4. The Prince Kidnaps A Bride by Christina Dodd. The eldest sister, Sorcha's story of returning to her kingdom.

    We'll see what I read next...:D

  • 2007 "One Liners"

I stole this a long time ago from my brother...back when we both used livejournal...or was it blurty...wow that was a long time ago. I think you are 'suppose' to do it at the beginning of the year...but the blogging police wont get me...

so without further ado...The first entry from every month this year...the first line from each entry:

January: ****I didn't use this xanga thing really until....****

February: Ok. Since Kristen LOVES this xanga thing so much...and she pretty much is the only person who checks my myspace loyally. I'm gonna start posting here.

March: So I am officially missing 3 teeth now.

April: I made a video for jack and jill...it's kinda long, but please watch it. :)

May: Fun Game! (stolen from some guy's blog)

June: "For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord." ---Romans 8:38-39 I read this scripture today and it really moved me.

    July: Ok...time for a 'real' non video...non audio...update...

August: Jillie was spayed today. :(

September: I've said this for years...and even have written a number of papers in school over this.

October: I feel like blogging...and there isn't much to say. ha.

November: Video I made. Halloween at the Baseball fields with Amy and her dog Stark, and me and J&J.

    December: ***THIS ENTRY***

That's it folks...my not so interesting life. ;)

  • Christmas is coming!

With the Thanksgiving holiday now officially over...I believe it's time for Christmas...

You know what I can't stand...that there has been stuff related to Christmas for WEEKS if not months out at the stores to buy. I'm not against buying things...and I'm definitely not against Christmas...but with all of the advertisement push for holidays, along with this "present giving season"...Christmas just doesn't mean what it's suppose to. Christmas is not about cards and gifts.

Why is Christmas all about a big tree with LOTS of presents under it. That's not what it's about for me. Even if you DON'T believe in Christ...there is much more to be said about the "meaning" of Christmas other than RECEIVING lots of gifts...

For those of us who do believe in Christ....HE is what CHRISTmas is all about. Let's focus on that...

"She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins." --Matthew 1:21 (New International Version)
